Alessio Di Chirico vs Roman Kopylov Predictions
Key Stat: Alessio Di Chirico is looking to get back to winning ways
- Kopylov is yet to win a fight in the UFC
- Alessio is the more experienced fighter with 19 professional bouts
- Alessio is the better striker among the two fighters
This is a fight between relatively similar fighters. There’s no significant size or height difference between the fighters as they stand toe to toe in this one. Alessio heads into this bout coming off a humiliating 17 seconds loss by KO to Abdul Razak Alhassan. Alessio has managed only a win in his last four fights and the win was over Joaquin Buckley. Alessio has struggled to find any form of consistency in his recent bouts. Kopylov once again is the underdog in this fight. Having lost his first two fights in the UFC, the Russian faces another huge task as he’s up against a more experienced fighter in the person of Alessio Di Chirico. Kopylov in his last bout despite his efforts to move on from a bad start to the UFC ended up losing by unanimous decision to Albert Duraev.
Looking at both fighters, Kopylov has been better, but just not in the UFC. He has an 88% finish rate, including 7 by knockout, and 1 by decision. Meanwhile, Alessio only has a 77% finish rate, including 6 by knockout, 4 by submission, and 3 by decision. Four of Alessio’s six career losses have come in his last five bouts showing his drastic fall in performance but the good part is, three of those recent four losses have been by decision. Kopylov winning this bout will be such a huge upset as Alessio has all it takes to get back to winning ways in this one. I’d take Alessio as the favorite to win this bout.
Key Stat: Kopylov has never lost via knockout
- Three of Alessio’s last four bouts have ended in the distance
- Kopylov has won seven of his eight fights via KO or TKO
- Kopylov’s last fight ended in a loss via decision
Both fighters although have a high KO percentage success, they have not been consistent. In Alessio’s last five fights, he won one via KO and lost the remaining four. One by a wild 17 seconds KO and the other three by decision. I believe considering how fast Alessio got knocked out in his last fight, he’d be more careful in this fight with the sole aim of avoiding being knocked out again. However, Kopylov entering this fight has nothing to lose. He will be more aggressive and I see him taking this fight to the distance, giving Alessio a tough time consequently.
