Denver Nuggets vs Milwaukee Bucks Pick Reasoning & Preview
One of the most interesting matchups of this big Wednesday night slate will surely be played in Milwaukee tonight as the Bucks take on the Western Conference leaders, the Denver Nuggets. We are probably going to see a lot of these two teams in the NBA Finals, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic going head-to-head in search of the big trophy this season. Both key players are coming into this match in very good form, as Giannis is averaging 30.9 points per game (a career high) and Kokic is averaging 25.1. We can see from the odds that Denver is an 8-point underdog, which doesn’t sound right… and what doesn’t sound right is probably not right!
The Nuggets managed to win by a narrow point over the New Orleans Pelicans last night, and they have an impressive 20 wins in their last 24 games. Even though they are playing back-to-back games and might be tired, I would keep an eye on the injury report because the 8-point underdog can’t be explained by this alone. It is also likely that we will see Jokic or Jamal Murray resting for this game, so again, this is something to watch out for before placing the bet.

The Bucks are in good form with Antetokounmpo, who returned on Monday after missing five games. Surely the Bucks are a different beast with him and Khris Middleton back, yet they would need to play a few games to hit top form. We believe that this is going to be a close game. Denver has what it takes to stay close even if they are on the road and even if they rest one or two of their stars. 8 points is a lot to cover, so let’s talk about Denver and the points here.
The Nuggets looked solid defensively in the last two games, conceding 101 and 98 points, respectively, to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans. Even though Denver is not known for having a strong defense, they are likely to struggle with the Bucks healthy and with their stars in the lineup. Milwaukee scored 150 points against the Detroit Pistons last time out, and with the Nuggets also playing well on offense, this game is likely to go over.Â
