Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Michigan Wolverines Predictions
Key Stat: Yeah, it’s going to be ugly for Hawaii
- Michigan just trounced Colorado State 51-7 to open the season
- Hawaii is already 0-2
- These games to start the season are always a joke
Listen, we’re used to these blowouts from teams within the Power 5 and others from the Group of 5, but things are even more ridiculous to compare this season. Michigan is coming from a stable season where they finally reached the College Football Playoff, while Hawaii is coming from a tumultuous offseason with many questions about the program and its viability. Hawaii has allowed 63 and 49 points in their first two games – and that’s against teams that weren’t so good. Imagine against a top-five team?
So yeah, I’m expecting Michigan to get the job done early and even their second and third teams to dominate the opponents, which should be more than enough to cover the long spread. It’s a David vs Goliath type of matchup, and the favorite is going to have a party in the end zone
Key Stat: Michigan alone can reach the over
- Hawaii did score some touchdowns in their opening games, with 27 points in total
- A lopsided scoreboard always help the over
- If Vanderbilt scored 63, Michigan can do the same.
It’s always tricky to pick numbers when it’s a lopsided contest but I feel like we’ve got enough to go with the Over here. Cade McNamara wants to show everybody that he’s the number one, and there won’t be much better opportunities than a Saturday night game against Hawaii. Plus, Vanderbilt scored 63, so we know that everybody can score against Hawaii. Some points from the Hawaii offense would obviously help – and they’re likely to come – but Michigan alone can do it.
