We have a couple of NFL Monday night Prop Bets for the Minnesota Vikings visiting the Philadelphia Eagles. In week one of the season, both teams impressed as the Vikings beat their division rival Green Bay Packers, and the Eagles won a shootout in Detroit against the Lions.

Both our prop bets are going to focus on the Vikings offense, and the first bet is targeting quarterback Kirk Cousins. Many were interested to see what Cousins would look like in this new offensive scheme from first-year head coach Kevin O’Connell. Cousins may be in for his best season as a Viking if the first week is any indication. Cousins went 23-32 for 277 yards and two touchdowns against the rival Packers. The Vikings QB kept looking for his #1 target in Justin Jefferson and constantly found him wide open to the tune of 188 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

The question is, can Kirk Cousins repeat that performance on the road in Philadelphia? Our first prop bet is Kirk Cousins Over/Under 280.5 passing yards. The Eagles have a tough defense and a strong secondary, but we think this new offensive scheme matches well with Cousins and his weapons. We will take Over 280.5 passing yards for Kirk Cousins.

Tip Reasoning

Key Stat: Dalvin Cook rushed for 90 yards in week 1

  • Cook got 20 carries against the Packers
  • The Eagles defense got gashed for 181 rush yards allowed last week
  • Philadelphia gave up 35 points in week one

Our second prop bet of the Vikings-Eagles game will focus on the Minnesota ground game. While all the attention was on wide receiver Justin Jefferson after their week one win, Dalvin Cook quietly had 20 carries for 90 yards in the game. While this isn’t close to as explosive as Cook and this rushing attack can be, it was a reminder the Vikings may have more ways to beat you offensively.

For the Eagles defense, which has taken pride as a tough hard-nosed defense, it was anything but last week in Detroit. This Eagles defense allowed big plays through the air and on the ground in week one against a Detroit Lions team that isn’t expected to do much this year. We have to believe the Eagles primary concern will be stopping Jefferson from making big plays for this Vikings offense, which may leave the running game wide open. Our second prop bet is Dalvin Cook Over/Under 71.5 rushing yards for the game. While we predict Kirk Cousins will throw for almost 300 yards passing, we think the ground game will be effective too. We will take the Over 71.5 rushing yards for Dalvin Cook Monday night.
