MLB picks Saturday 6/24 – YRFI & NRFI best bets today: Locking in on Braves vs Reds and Brewers vs Guardians matchups

The week’s Major League Baseball action continues with a jam-packed 15-game schedule this Saturday. This includes three games that will be broadcasted on FOX, commencing with the Cubs vs Cardinals game in London at 1:10 pm ET. Subsequently, the Mets will go head-to-head with the Phillies at 4:05 pm ET on FS1. As such, there are ample opportunities for bettors to delve into the YRFI/NRFI (Yes Run First Inning/No Run First Inning) market.

The YRFI/NRFI market has been gaining significant traction among baseball bettors, mainly due to its instant payout structure. Atlanta Braves vs Cincinnati Reds: YRFI (-142)

Paying for a YRFI at -142 may seem a bit steep, but considering DraftKings’ over 0.5 runs in the first inning is set at -175, -142 on FanDuel seems quite reasonable. Given the current performance of both teams, this isn’t too surprising. Both Cincinnati and Atlanta are witnessing their bats come alive, which has been the driving force behind Cincinnati’s 12-game winning streak and Atlanta’s 8-game winning streak leading up to this heavyweight series. If Friday’s opener is anything to go by, we are in for a treat with the Braves notching up five runs in the first inning, only to see the Reds come back for an electrifying 11-10 win.

Looking at Saturday’s pitching matchup, we’re unlikely to see a slowdown in the scoring. Jared Shuster, Atlanta’s current choice, isn’t exactly setting the world on fire, with a 4.57 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. However, Cincinnati’s Graham Ashcraft has had it even worse. With a record of 3-5, a 6.78 ERA, and a 1.62 ERA, Ashcraft, fresh from the injury list, isn’t inspiring much confidence. Therefore, expect an immediate onslaught of runs in this high-octane encounter.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cleveland Guardians: NRFI (-115)

Trying to make sense of the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Guardians can be quite the puzzle, given their unpredictable performances in the MLB. Both teams have shown occasional sparks of brilliance, with the Brewers spurred by the likes of Christian Yelich and Rowdy Tellez, and the Guardians finding inspiration in Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor. However, neither team has demonstrated the ability to maintain this momentum consistently.

Today’s starters, while not exceptional, have the potential to exploit these inconsistent lineups. With a combined NRFI record of 19-5, Peralta and Bibee seem poised to keep the first inning run-free.
