MLB Saturday Parlay at Mega (+783) Odds Today, 7/1: Justin Verlander and Mets Tipped for Triumph

The weekend of Major League Baseball has arrived. With a slew of games underway, I’ve compiled a 3-team MLB mega parlay that offers some generous odds with BetMGM Sportsbook. After winning our parlay yesterday, I’m eager for more successes. Here’s my mega parlay – also, don’t forget to review our MLB predictions along with my top YRFI/NRFI bets.

San Francisco Giants vs New York Mets – NY Mets (-145)

Friday night sees the Giants and the Mets entering round two of their current series. Anthony DeSclafani, holding a season scorecard of 4-7, steps up to pitch for the Giants. With a season ERA of 4.28 and a WHIP of 1.20, DeSclafani has found himself on the lower end of important percentiles, including a 16th percentile xBA and a 20th percentile K%. These stats, coupled with a 23rd percentile xSLG and a 21st percentile hard-hit percentage, set the scene for possible opportunities for the Mets’ offense.

The Mets will counter with the experienced Justin Verlander, who shares similar overall season stats with DeSclafani, but exhibits better percentile rankings and xERA. His xBA is at the 52nd percentile, xSLG at the 53rd percentile, and his BB% at an impressive 78th percentile, with a 3.72 xERA. Though Verlander has struggled in four games this season, he’s held firm in six others, allowing just seven earned runs. All these suggest a fair shot at a Mets’ home-ground victory.

Texas Rangers -1.5 (+155) over Houston Astros

A surprise roster for the American League all-star starters saw three Texas infielders included: Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, and Josh Jung. Apart from their offensive prowess, Texas’ pitching prowess has also been noteworthy. Despite missing Jacob deGrom, arguably the best pitcher of this era, they’ve still thrived on the mound. Nathan Eovaldi, their offseason acquisition, has been phenomenal with a 2.82 ERA and 3.34 xERA in 16 games.

Hunter Brown steps up for the Astros, filling the shoes of Justin Verlander who switched to the Mets. Brown, despite a promising career start with a 3.62 ERA and 3.54 xERA in 15 games, will face a tough challenge against Texas. Texas ranks high against fastballs and curveballs – Brown’s go-to pitches. Given Eovaldi’s form and Texas’ home advantage, they stand a good chance of a decisive win.

Los Angeles Angels vs Arizona Diamondbacks – ARZ Diamondbacks ML (+105)

Coming up is a matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels. The Diamondbacks recently experienced a mixed bag of results in their series against the Rays, while the Angels won two out of three games against the White Sox before succumbing to a two-run defeat.

Brandon Pfaadt was on the mound for the Diamondbacks’ recent loss, giving up six earned runs in 2.0 innings. Tommy Henry will start in their next game. With a 4-1 record this season and a career record of 7-5, Henry seems to offer the Diamondbacks a solid chance for a win.

The Angels, who just lost to the White Sox, will field Griffin Canning in their next game. With a 6-2 record this season and a career record of 18-15, he looks set to put up a strong fight.

The Diamondbacks have a history of strong performances in the opening games of series, while the Angels have struggled in interleague games. Given this, and considering the recent performances of both starting pitchers, I see the Diamondbacks bouncing back and seizing the opener.
