SD Padres @ SF Giants – Under 7.5 (+115)

Blake Snell appears to be hitting his stride after a rocky start this season. Following a disappointing start in April where he went 0-3 with a 5.30 ERA, often yielding three or more walks in his games, the talented lefty has bounced back impressively. Over his past five games, Snell has allowed just two runs in thirty innings, while giving up four or fewer hits in each of those games. In short, it seems the Padres have finally got the Snell they’ve been yearning for.

Despite injury troubles this season, Alex Wood has returned to the rotation, fresh off his best performance of the year. After an end of May back injury, Wood returned for the rivalry series against the Dodgers, throwing 5 shutout innings and allowing only 3 hits and zero walks. Notably, he delivered this impressive performance against a Dodgers team known for battering left-handed pitching this June. As for the Padres, they are currently in the midst of a significant slump. I’m opting for an alternate total to maximize the return value on this bet.

PIT Pirates @ MIA Marlins – PIT Pirates Win (+125)

Anytime Mitch Keller is on the mound for the Pirates and the money line carries a plus sign, I’m all in. Keller has shown substantial improvement this season, serving as the Pirates’ ace with a 3.62 ERA and a 3.44 xERA across 92 innings. While he’s had a few rough starts in June, I’m not deterred by a Marlins lineup that is over-reliant on Luis Arraez. If Keller can keep Arraez, one of the few Marlins hitters he’s yet to face, from collecting his third 5-hit game of the month, I fancy the Pirates to pull off an upset.

Braxton Garrett started the season as one of the easiest targets for hitters, with a 0-2 record, a 5.46 ERA, and a .282 xBA in May. Garrett also conceded a hard-hit rate of 51%, significantly higher than the season’s average of 36.1%. His control is excellent, as he doesn’t walk many hitters, but his primary pitch, the slider, doesn’t get enough swings and misses. As long as the Pirates can stay patient and wait for his sinker and cutter, they should be able to score enough runs to support Keller.

San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants – San Francisco Giants Win (-105)

This Thursday, a gripping encounter awaits Major League Baseball fans, as the San Diego Padres lock horns with the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. This preview delves into the details of the game and offers a thoughtful prediction.

The San Diego Padres have had a decent run recently, managing to score nine runs across their last three games, and scoring four or more runs in six of their last ten matches. When the Padres score four or more runs, they’ve won nine out of their last twelve games.

Leading the Padres’ offensive efforts is Juan Soto with 67 hits and 37 RBI, while the combination of Xander Bogaerts and Fernando Tatis Jr. has amassed 130 hits and 59 RBI. The Padres will be banking on Blake Snell for this game, a lefty with a 3-6 record, a 3.48 ERA, and 93 strikeouts this season. It’s worth noting that Snell has an encouraging career record against the Giants, with a 3-1 career record, a 2.51 ERA, and 46 strikeouts.

The San Francisco Giants have been enjoying an incredible run, with a scoreline of fifteen runs in their last three games and a string of ten consecutive games with four or more runs scored. This streak has translated into a solid winning run, with the Giants notching fourteen consecutive victories when scoring four or more runs.

Thairo Estrada is the standout player for the Giants with 73 hits and 28 RBI, while JD Davis and LaMonte Wade Jr. have combined for 125 hits and 68 RBI. The Giants are relying on Alex Wood on the mound, a player who holds a 2-1 record, a 4.11 ERA, and 34 strikeouts this season. Wood also has a stellar record against the Padres, with a 6-4 record, a 3.14 ERA, and 97 strikeouts.

Although the Padres have struggled recently, going 3-12 in their last fifteen Thursday games, they have performed better in the fourth game of a series with a 19-7 record. On the other hand, the Giants are in fine form with a 24-9 record in their last 33 games, though they have struggled a bit on Thursdays with a 7-16 record in their last 23 Thursday games. The Padres are 6-2 in their last eight games in San Francisco and 9-3 in the last twelve encounters.

Even though Blake Snell might appear to give the Padres a pitching advantage, their 4-10 record when he pitches this season brings up serious doubts. Meanwhile, the Giants are on a ten-game winning streak and their offense is running like a well-oiled machine. Hence, the prediction tilts towards the San Francisco Giants keeping their impressive streak alive.

SEA Mariners vs NY Yankees – NY Yankees Win (-132)

In what promises to be a thrilling Major League Baseball match-up, the Seattle Mariners will square off against the New York Yankees this Thursday at the legendary Yankee Stadium. This preview offers an insightful glimpse into the upcoming game and provides a meticulously crafted prediction.

The Seattle Mariners have been struggling in their recent games, amassing a total of eight runs in their last three games, and scoring three or fewer runs in five of their last six matches. This lackluster offense has resulted in a downward spiral, with seven losses in their last eight games when scoring three or fewer runs.

The Mariners’ offensive efforts have been led by Ty France, with a noteworthy 76 hits and 32 RBI. Further bolstering the offense are Julio Rodriguez and Teoscar Hernandez, who have collectively amassed 137 hits and 78 RBI. Bryan Woo, with a 0-1 record, a 7.30 ERA, and 20 strikeouts this season, is set to take the mound for the Mariners. Woo’s debut against the Yankees will undoubtedly be one of the game’s intriguing points.

Similar to the Mariners, the Yankees have also scored eight runs in their last three games and have been restricted to three or fewer runs in eight of their last eleven games. The Yankees have also experienced a dip in form, suffering five losses in their last seven games when failing to score more than three runs.

Leading the Yankees’ offense is Anthony Rizzo, with 69 hits and 37 RBI, while Gleyber Torres and DJ LeMahieu have collectively accumulated 120 hits and 53 RBI. Taking the mound for the Yankees will be Domingo German, who boasts a 4-4 record, a 4.30 ERA, and 65 strikeouts this season. German has had an excellent track record against the Mariners, with a 3-0 career record, a 4.22 ERA, and 19 strikeouts.

In terms of recent form, the Mariners have done well on Thursdays with an 11-3 record in their last fourteen

games, but have struggled on the road with a 1-5 record in their last six games. The Yankees, on the other hand, have been grappling with a downturn in form, with a 1-4 record in their last five games following a victory, and a similar 1-4 record in their last five games overall. The Mariners have a daunting 4-14 record in their last 18 games in New York and a 15-38 record in the last 53 encounters.

Given the recent cooling off of the Mariners’ offense, and Bryan Woo’s shaky start, conceding 14 hits and 10 runs in his first 12.1 innings, the New York Yankees appear poised for a much-needed comeback performance. Taking into consideration German’s exceptional home performance with a 2.92 ERA and limiting batters to a .172 batting average, the Yankees look to be the safer bet in this match-up.
