MLB Tuesday parlay at mega +853 odds, today 7/18: Featuring Orioles to bounce back and White Sox to edge out Mets

This week’s MLB action resumes with a complete 15-game lineup on Tuesday, the first full week post the all-star break. The highlight is a Dodgers vs. Orioles face-off at 7:05 pm ET televised on TBS. Baltimore Orioles -1.5 over LA Dodgers (+155)

The Orioles were on an impressive 8-game winning streak before succumbing to the Dodgers. I foresee a return to form in the second game, where Tyler Wells will pitch for Baltimore. With a 7-4 record and a 3.18 ERA and 0.93 WHIP, Wells showcases good percentile rankings for xBA, K%, and BB%. He’s remained consistent, not letting in more than two earned runs in his past eight starts.

The Dodgers will bring in Michael Grove, whose record is a less promising 1-2 with a 6.89 ERA. Grove’s percentiles aren’t impressive, and in six out of nine instances where he pitched for more than three innings, he allowed four or more runs. I predict the Orioles to regain their footing.

SD Padres ML over Toronto Blue Jays (-115)

Tuesday will see the San Diego Padres moving north, eager to end their three-game slump. Right-Hand Pitcher Joe Musgrove is tasked with leading the Padres’ charge, carrying an 8-2 record, a 3.29 ERA, and a 1.15 WHIP over 79 1/3 innings this season. He boasts of a six-game run of quality starts, including three wins against American League teams.

The Padres, despite a few hiccups, have performed admirably, securing five straight inter-league victories and winning eight out of the last ten games against the American League. However, their recent away form remains a concern.

On the other side, the Toronto Blue Jays are riding high on a four-game winning streak, having won eight of their last nine games. Their pitcher, Alek Manoah, however, has been a weak link, with a disappointing record. Given the pitchers’ contrasting forms and the team’s overall performances, I am favoring the visiting Padres.

Chicago White Sox ML over New York Mets (+100)

As the trade deadline looms, Lucas Giolito of the Chicago White Sox has been turning heads. His value spiked after conceding just four earned runs over 13 innings against the Cardinals and Blue Jays before the break.

Giolito may have shortcomings, such as low groundball rates and a proclivity to allow hard hits, but he is undeniably an asset to any major league team. His 4-seam fastball, slider, and changeup form a potent mix that keeps opponents guessing, potentially tipping the scales in the face of the Mets’ heightened strikeout vulnerability.

While Giolito shines, the White Sox’s offensive line has had a rocky season. However, with strong hitters such as Luis Robert and Jake Burger and a highly promising prospect in Oscar Colas, their fortunes might change.

The Mets’ Carlos Carrasco has had a lackluster season, despite recent strong performances. With the Mets’ bullpen performing poorly since June 1, the White Sox seem to have an edge. Therefore, I’m placing my bet on Chicago for the victory.
