Arizona Cardinals Season Predictions
Key Stat: Arizona is coming off an 11-6 season
- Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins is suspended for the first 6 games
- Quarterback Kyler Murray just signed a new long-term extension with the team
- Arizona signed new wide receiver Marquise Brown from the Titans
Our team-by-team NFL previews continue with the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona finished 11-6 in the regular season and second in the NFC West. Arizona made the playoffs last year and lost to their division rival and eventual super bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. Arizona should have a formidable offense in 2022 as they bring back Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins (in week 7), and free agent signing wide receiver Marquise Brown from Tennessee.
Arizona will have to fight its way through the NFC West, competing with the super bowl champs in their same division. The Cardinals will try not to let their foot off the gas as they did in 2021. Arizona started the season 10-2 but finished the season losing 4 of their last 5 games and slipping into a wild-card spot. Offensively, they will look to maintain their offensive prowess, as they were a top 10 team offensively in the NFL last year.
As for the first future bet for the Cardinals, we are looking at their regular season wins. The Over/Under is 8.5 wins, and the odds seem to be 50/50 for either side. The Rams will definitely be the biggest threat in their division, but we think the 49ers and Seahawks should be worse than Arizona. We are going with the Cardinals hitting Over 8.5 wins for the upcoming season, as we are predicting a 9-8 year.
Key Stat: Cardinals look for back-to-back playoff appearances
- Arizona hasn’t made playoffs two years in a row since ‘14,15
- Cardinals defense added Zaven Collins in the draft
- Rondale Moore leads a very stacked running back room
The second futures pick we looked at for Arizona in 2022 is making the wild-card spot in the NFC. As talked about above, we think the Cardinals will end up 9-8, so they will be right on the cut line for the playoffs. The Rams are the class of the NFC West, so this would be the only way to make the playoffs for Arizona. The odds are fairly good, as you can get +240 for Arizona grabbing a wild-card spot. The key will be if Arizona can overtake San Francisco for the second spot in the division. The defense will be the key for Arizona. In order to make the playoffs, the defense will have to keep pace with the high-powered offense and stay middle of the pack in the NFL, like they were last season. For the odds, the Cardinals are a decent look to make that wild-card spot for the 2022 season.
