NFC Championship Winner Predictions

Key Stat: The last two Super Bowl champs meet in NFC championship game

Tip Reasoning

  • Rams try to be the rare team to make it to back-to-back Super Bowls
  • Buccaneers ride their Hall-of-fame QB to one more NFC championship game
  • Matt Stafford makes it to two NFC championship games in a row

The NFL Season is right around the corner, as the regular season starts in just 3 weeks! But that doesn’t mean we can’t take a gander through our looking glass and see what the futures hold! Today we are picking who will participate in the NFC championship game in January and who will move on to the Super Bowl. After looking through all the teams, we are picking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with one more run from Tom Brady, to reach the NFC Championship game. The Bucs will have to travel all the way across the country to face off with the defending champion Los Angeles Rams in LA in late January.

The Los Angeles Rams have a tough division to go through, being in the NFC West, but we don’t think it’ll be as difficult as others do. We think the 49ers will take a step back with their second-year unproven quarterback, the Seahawks will fall off a cliff without Russell Wilson, and the Cardinals will be their only competition. That being said, we like the Rams to win the NFC West and earn the #1 seed in the NFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Matthew Stafford will have an MVP-level season being guided in his second year by Sean McVay and the Rams will be home through the NFC Championship game, where they will meet Tampa Bay.

Tip Reasoning

Key Stat: Rams win NFC Championship two years in a row

  • Aaron Donald continues to lead Rams defense
  • Cooper Kupp leads the league in receptions again
  • Rams go 13-4 in the regular season

Our second futures bet is looking at who wins the NFC Championship game now that we know the matchup. Tom Brady will have another strong season, but the Bucs lean on their defense late in the season to win them games. The Rams will get off to a hot start this season and essentially lead the NFC from beginning to end. With L.A.’s players coming back on offense and defense to go along with their off-season additions, there is no reason to think they won’t be the best team in the NFC.

Tampa Bay already has too many offensive line injuries, and it will catch up to them in the playoffs. The Ram’s defensive line will create havoc on an immobile Tom Brady. Although Brady and the Bucs will be able to score some points, they won’t be able to keep up with the blistering pace of the Rams offense. LA beats Tampa Bay 34-24 to advance to the Super Bowl.
