We’re going to take a look at some prop bets for the Thursday Night game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans. The Eagles come into the game undefeated at 7-0, while the Texans have the worst record at 1-5-1 on the year. Philadelphia has the advantage at basically every position over the Texans, so the Eagles will be able to have their way at plenty of position battles.

Our first prop bet we’re looking at is Miles Sanders Over/Under 76.5 rushing yards for the game. This is an interesting prop because while it seems like an obvious choice, the Eagles throw the ball a lot and have plenty of wide receiver threats to do so. Also, Jalen Hurts can be a big part of the running game, both while scrambling and on designed runs, which takes away opportunities for Sanders.

However, we think the Eagles will get out to an early comfortable lead and want to run the ball to keep the clocking moving. Most teams want to survive the Thursday Night short week game with as few injuries as possible, which means running the ball. Plus, add in the fact that Sanders and his offensive line are better than the Texans poor run defense, we’ll take Sanders Over 76.5 rushing yards.

Tip Reasoning

Key Stat: The Texans average 92 rushing yards per game

  • Pierce is the Texans best offensive weapon
  • The Eagles are giving up 114 yards rushing on defense
  • Pierce has 539 rushing yards for the Texans

Our next prop bet for the Eagles-Texans game heads to the offensive side of the ball for Houston. Running back Dameon Pierce is one of the few Texans playmakers on their offense. Pierce has 539 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season. The passing game for Houston hasn’t been able to find a rhythm all season long, and this Eagles secondary isn’t likely to allow that to happen Thursday night. We think the Texans will try to shorten the game by running the ball and the clock as much as possible. Houston can’t get in an offensive shootout with Philadelphia and have a chance to win. So we’ll take Pierce and over 61.5 rushing yards against the Eagles.
