Vanderbilt Commodores vs Alabama CT Predictions

Key Stat: Crimson Tide covered in 9 of their last 10 games

Tip Reasoning

  • The Commodores are 3-7 against the spread in the last ten outings
  • Alabama secured a statement 63-7 win over UL Monroe last weekend
  • We’d not be surprised to see a similar scenario here against Vanderbilt

Alabama Crimson Tide will keep marching towards a perfect record in the regular season on Saturday evening when they play host to SEC rivals Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 4. The Crimson Tide took a serious approach last weekend against the Louisiana Monroe side and it resulted in a demolishing 63-7 victory. They were almost punished in Week 2 against Texas, pulling off a narrow 19-20 win on the road and we were not surprised to see them destroying the UL Monroe last time out.

We expect another serious approach by the No 2 seeds this weekend. Bryce Young went 13-for-18 for three touchdowns and a total of 236 yards in his limited time on the ground. Young should have a somewhat tougher job here against the Commodores who are 3-1 this term. However, there is still an obvious gulf in quality between these two programs and anything but a comprehensive victory for the hosts would represent a serious upset. We’ll take Alabama Crimson Tide to win in -40.5 points spread at the -110 odds.

Tip Reasoning

Key Stat: The Miners are averaging 14 points per game this season

  • They are now up against a tougher rival than the ones they had in the previous couple of weeks
  • Boise State’s offense is not the same without wide receiver Khalil Shakir either
  • The Broncos are 107th nationally in passing downs success

Vanderbilt Commodores are scoring 42 points per game on average in this term of NCAAF. This is by no means sustainable for their standards, particularly not when they are set to come face to face with the No 2-seeded Crimson Tide. Nevertheless, we should definitely not ignore the offensive numbers posted by the Commodores so far in the season. Knowing that Alabama have shown defensive instabilities in the match against Texas as well as that Bryce Young is prone to turnovers, we have reasons to expect a high-scoring contest here. Of course, Alabama should do their part of the job on the opposite end. The Over 59.5 points is our preferred Totals selection at the -104 odds.
